LifeWay Church's existing database application (SEARCh) was reaching the end of its lifecycle and potential. As a highly-complex MS Access database, many of the needed features were getting too complex to integrate into the existing application without rewriting all forms and controls.
The new site will allow LifeWay Church's staff to access necessary information quickly from any location, without requiring the installation of an expensive program like Microsoft Access. Features like "find as you type" with custom result renderings, pictures of members for ease of recognition, and highly ajax integrated functionality, the new site will increase efficiencies and let the staff focus on caring for their members.
My brother-in-law works for Greenwater Skis, located in beautiful Greenwater, WA. I redesigned the site as a way to kill some time when I couldn't sleep one night. The next day I sent it over to them and got some free ski rentals in return. A great deal if you ask me!
My friend owns a window cleaning business in Federal Way called Clearly Windows. He recently had a desire to make some changes to his website and wasn't having great success with his current vendor. gUncle took control of the website and built a newly designed website that focussed on greater imagery. Additionally, gUncle developed a tool for Clearly Windows to manage some of their own content without having to get a web developer involved. Of course, it sweetened the pot a bit when he offered to clean our windows (to which Heidi asked if we could redesign the site every year).
Driving past the old run-down building every day was depressing. Then I spotted a group of people fixing it up. Soon there were signs announcing a new restaurant. When I found out the owners were a friend of a friend and in need of help with their website, I couldn't help but jump in. A few tasty meals later and the website was up and running.
HeidiMark.net is my personal site and has been through quite a few redesigns through the years. The current site adding many new features such as theme selection, blog, and fulltext searching. The redeveloped site also includes a custom administrative area that allows me to update most of the content on the site at any time through a web browser.
A site built to solve the issue of answering the question, "what do you want for your birthday this year?" Users can manage their wishlist items, order them by preference and upload images. For Christmas, the site employs a "pick-em" feature that dynamically draws a name out of a hat, which the user would then be an "elf" for.
